MCKENZIE MOON
Artwork by
Leslie Roycroft
painting is my source for meditation. When I practice creating, I’m a better person. My spirit is in a better place and life is easier to navigate.
Why do I paint?
The organic nature that the ink displays immediately appealed to me and continues to draw me in and amaze me.
I love learning the techniques to control a medium that, no matter my efforts, will always be somewhat wild in nature.
Painters often struggle with keeping their technique "loose" while painting.
inks allow me varying amounts of control but in every stroke there’s a hint of the unexpected. It keeps me
present for what is happening on the page and allows my style to remain loose.
That state of being "in the moment" is what makes this medium such a wonderful means for meditation.
Why alcohol ink?
